We compare the testing budget with the conversion signal each test needs.

7 tests a month. That's about 1.6 a week. Budgeted at A$6,000. We put at least five new ads into every account we run whatever the spend, so this sits under the floor: the same ads end up carrying the budget for longer than an audience will sit still for.

The maths

Testing budget = 30,000 × 20% = 6,000 AUD.

Affordable tests = floor(6,000 / 500) = 12. Signal-based tests = floor(6,000 / (40 × 20)) = 7.

Suggested count = minimum of both limits. Weekly cadence = count / (52 / 12). Video count = round(count × 50%); static count = count - video.

Before you use it

Conversion counts don't assure statistical significance. Tests differ in audience, delivery and effect size. Weekly cadence averages a year as 52 weeks, not four weeks per month.

This is a planning scenario, not a forecast or financial advice. Compare it with your actual order and customer records before changing spend.

Questions worth asking

Why use the smaller test count?

One limit checks the budget per test. The other checks the budget needed for baseline CPA times target conversions. We use the smaller whole-number count.

Will each test be statistically significant?

No. This budget check doesn't calculate confidence, power or sample-size requirements. Use a controlled testing method before claiming a winner.
